Mural Work

This Mural is depiction from one of my favorite children’s books, The Lion And The Little Red Bird by Elisa Kleven. The illustrations are wonderful and I just wanted to display my version of the story in a large format for the children to enjoy for years at Primavera Montessori School.  After completing the mural I gathered the children outside to sit while I read the book.

This three panel wall mural is over 10 feet high  and 8 feet wide. In collaboration with my mural partner Audrey we completed the mural this past July in early morning spurts to avoid the heat of  Texas summer. The design was approved with some restrictions from the AISD board and put into motion soon after. The theme was to bring the exiting environment onto the wall. On any given day at Zilker Elementary and the adjacent park you will find such activities depicted in this mural.
